The Perito Moreno Minitrekking 2.0 is a more physically demanding excursion with a more comprehensive route than the classic minitrekking. This version allows you to get closer to the center of the Perito Moreno Glacier, combining ice trekking, sailing along the glacier's southern face, and visits to the walkways, always accompanied by expert guides.
The tour begins at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, where a short boat trip crosses the Brazo Rico arm of Lake Argentino. Upon disembarking, the guides provide crampons and give the necessary instructions for walking safely on the ice.
The hike begins along the lake shore, with views of the glacier's face and the possibility of seeing calving. Then, you cross the forest to reach the access point to the ice, where the Minitrekking 2.0 proper begins.
During the trek across the glacier, you'll see crevasses, seracs, sinkholes, small caves, lagoons, and deep blue ice formations. The pace is moderate to brisk and takes place on uneven surfaces of firm ice. After the trek, a glass of whisky with glacial ice is offered—a classic and unmissable part of this experience.
After returning to the port, those who have booked the transfer continue towards the walkways located in front of the glacier, where they can enjoy a unique panoramic view from the famous balconies.
